(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The deadline given by the Election Commission to register new political parties expires today.
The Elections Commission announced the timeframe on the 1st of February.
The opportunity given to new political parties to register after 2010 is also significant.
Speaking to a prominent online news portal in the isle, the Deputy Elections Commissioner MM Mohamed said several political parties have registered at the Elections Commission thus far.
