(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – PH Manathunga has been named the new Chairman of the National Police Commission.
The President’s Media Division said PH Manathunga accepted his letter of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena this evening.
The post was previously held by Professor Siri Hettige.
However Professor Hettige tendered in his resignation to the Constitutional Council earlier this month.
Professor Hettige attributed the resignation to an overseas teaching assignment for a period of two months.
