Emma Watson replaces Stone in “Women”

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Emma Watson has joined Greta Gerwig’s upcoming new adaptation of the classic Louisa May Alcott novel “Little Women” at Sony Pictures.

The story follows the March sisters in post-Civil War America. Watson is playing one of the sisters and is reportedly being eyed for the part originally intended for Emma Stone. Stone has bowed out of the project for unspecified reasons.

Gerwig is writing and directing with a cast that includes Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Saoirse Ronan, Timothee Chalamet, and Florence Pugh. Filming is expected to start next month.
