(UTV|COLOMBO) – A Chinese national arrested on Sunday night (25) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake while attempting to smuggle gemstones worth Rs. 21 million.
The 39-year-old suspect arrived from Shanghai, was arrested by the Customs with 12 pieces of gemstones weighing 68.87 ct.
Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Customs.
