(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Former Governor of the Eastern Province Austin Fernando has assumed duties as the new Secretary to the President. Mr. Fernando accepted his letter of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena Tuesday morning (04).
Meanwhile, Former Additional Solicitor-General Kapila Waidyaratne assumed duties as the Secretary of Defence, while Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake took office as the Commander-in-Chief of the Army.
Furthermore, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Rohitha Bogollagama has been appointed the new Governor of the Eastern Province.
