(UDHAYAM, KEGALLE) – A suspect was shot dead by Police when he attempted to rob a shop in Warakapola, early Monday morning (26).
According to the Police, the Police team which had arrived at the scene following a tip off to the 119 hotline had shot at the suspect when he tried to throw a hand grenade towards them. The suspect who sustained life threatening injuries following the shooting had succumbed to injuries upon his admission to the Warakapola Hospital.
The post-mortem of the suspect will be conducted at the Warakapola Hospital today.
