(UDHAYAM, NUWARA ELIYA) – A tense situation arose in Nanu Oya on Thursday (15) after an accident resulted in the death of a child. The 7-year-old girl was killed after a lorry crashed into her on a pedestrian crossing.
The Police said, people in the area had set fire to the lorry and this has resulted in heavy traffic on the Hatton – Nuwara Eliya Main Road.
The lorry driver was arrested by the Nanu Oya Police. The accident had occurred around 7.25 AM this morning near the Nanu Oya Police Station.
