(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – A 23-year-old man in Kiriella, Ratnapura, was assaulted and killed by a mob after they allegedly realized he was planning to badly assault his wife.
The deceased had a sharp object and a bottle of acid in his possession, reportedly.
Residents and relatives of the wife have rushed to the scene when they heard her cries as the suspect was assaulting her.
Following a tip-off the police had visited their house and rushed the suspect to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
