(UTV|COLOMBO) – A total number of 8,717 motorists have been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol from July 5 to August 15 the police media said.
A special island-wide operation was commenced from July 5, in order to apprehend drunk drivers.
Accordingly 82 drunk drivers were arrested from August 14, 6.00am to August 15, 6.00am.
