Case against MP Namal Rajapaksa to be heard

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The case filed against Hambantota District Parliamentarian (MP) Namal Rajapaksa over disrespecting the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption will be taken up for hearing once again today (21st Tuesday).

The case will be heard before the Supreme Court.

The Bribery Commission filed a case against MP Namal Rajapaksa for allegedly defaming the Commission by rejecting summons to record a statement.

During the previous court hearing, Attorneys representing MP Namal Rajapaksa informed the Supreme Court that their client is ready to provide his statement.

Accordingly, the Supreme Court ordered the Parliamentarian to provide his statement before today. MP Rajapaksa was present at the Bribery Commission yesterday.
