(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – A decision has been taken to increase bus fares, the Ministry of Transport said on Sunday (11).
The Ministry of Transport said that accordingly bus fares will be increased from July 01.
Meanwhile, the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association (LPBOA) President Gemunu Wijeratne said the fares of private buses and buses attached to the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) would be increased up by 6.5% from July 01, as per the annual revisions.
He added that Transport Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva had also expressed his consent for the fare revision.
