(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Coast Guard personnel attached to the Coast Guard Station Kirinda in coordination with the Special Task Force (STF) personnel in Katharagama, during a joint raid, apprehended a suspect for transporting sand without valid permit on Saturday (20).
The apprehension was made in Yodakandiya in Thissamaharama when the suspect was transferring sand on a tractor.
The suspect was identified as a resident of Yodakandiya, aged-38. The apprehended person, tractor and sand were handed over to the Thissamaharama Police for onward legal action.
