(UDHAYAM, JAFFNA) – Two Police officers have been arrested over an incident in the North, Sunday evening (09) where shots were fired at a vehicle killing a youth.
Accordingly, a Sub Inspector of Police and a Police Constable attached to Point Pedro Police Station had been arrested. The two arrested officers have also been suspended from duty.
The officers are due to be produced before the Point Pedro Magistrate’s Court on Monday (10).
The Police opened fire on a vehicle which allegedly failed to stop at a Police check point. The 25-year-old driver of the vehicle was killed in the gunfire.
