(UTV|COLOMBO) Steps have been taken to appoint the five members panel led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe to get recommendations on the provincial council election.
Speaker K Karu Jayasuriya will be appointed the five members panel in compliance with party officials.
Speaker’s office said in a statement that the issue was discussed at the parliamentary committee meeting held yesterday.
Meanwhile, that statement further said, Karu Jayasuriya’s position indicates that the provincial council election should not be delayed for any reason.
