(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Speaker of the House, Karu Jayasuriya, and yesterday (9th February) informed Parliament that he ordered the relevant authorities to beef up TNA MP M. A. Sumanthiran’s security.
The order was made following a request made by MP Sumanthiran, after a plot to assassinate him was revealed last month.
Four former cadres of the LTTE were remanded on the 20th January, in connection with the assassination plot.
