(UDHAYAM,JAFFNA) – A soldier died while another was wounded after an army vehicle collided with the Yal Devi train at Ariyalai, Jaffna.
The accident occurred at around 10.00am this morning.
When the army vehicle had reportedly attempted to travel through the railway crossing despite the signals warning of the coming train.
Two soldiers attached to the Ariyalai army camp were traveling in the SUV when it came into contact with the train between Jaffna and Nawatkuli railway stations.
