(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – A special investigation has been launched into the accident reported in Nanu Oya yesterday (15).
The investigation will be conducted under the purview of the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police of the Central Province.
The Police Media Unit noted 5 Police Constables and 2 Police Constable Drivers have been transferred to the Nuwara Eliya Police Headquarters with immediate effect.
Meanwhile the Officer in Charge of the Nanu Oya Police Division was transferred to Nuwara Eliya yesterday.
A 6 year old school child died as a result of the accident reported in Nanu Oya yesterday.
The area residents of Nanu Oya yesterday set fire to the tipper truck involved in the accident.
