(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Tamil Eelam Liberation Organisation has decided to take disciplinary action against TELO Secretary N Srikantha and two others for not backing Sajith Premadasa at the recently concluded Presidential Election.
Leader of TELO Parliamentarian Selvam Adaikkalanathan said the trio failed to abide by the party’s decision to support the New Democratic Front candidate at the election.
The group had instead backed MK Sivajilingam who contested the polls as an independent candidate. Meanwhile, MP Adaikkalanathan claimed TELO had received a number of requests urging the party leadership to accept MK Sivajilingam back into the party.
However, the TELO leader said the party is not in a position to consider such requests.
