(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – State Minister Mohan Lal Grero says university students and students of the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine have been made pawns by various groups over the controversy surrounding SAITM.
The State Minister joining the debate on SAITM in Parliament yesterday said the issue has been created to fulfil narrow political objectives.
The State Minister said 80,000 students receiving free education in universities and around 1000 students of SAITM, are being used as scapegoats to further private and political agendas and personal hate which may have festered for even up to 70 years.
State Minister Grero said groups who discuss the issue do not speak out of any love or regard for the students.
