Coogler returns for “Black Panther 2”

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Filmmaker Ryan Coogler has signed on for the “Black Panther” sequel, returning to write and direct the follow-up to his 2018 critical and box-office hit at Marvel Studios and Disney Pictures.

The deal reportedly took some time to come together, but the filmmaker will begin penning the script next year with production expected to start in late 2019 or early 2020.

The first film became the third biggest movie of all time domestically with over USD 665 million, and racked up USD 1.3 billion worldwide.

Coogler is also still developing the indie drama “Wrong Answer” starring Michael B. Jordan, along with producing the upcoming “Creed” and “Space Jam” sequels.
