(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Lal Ranasinghe Bandara, the Chief Magistrate of Colombo, ordered Sri Lankan singer MG Dhanushka to pay Rs.300, 000 to Sarath Fernando by 31st March. Dhanushka agreed to make the payment.
Sarath Fernando, the son of the late MS Fernando, a popular singer of yesteryear, lodged a complaint earlier claiming that Dhanushka had sung his father’s songs without obtaining permission.
He was found guilty of breaching Fernando’s rights by the court under the Intellectual Property Act.
