UTV | COLOMBO – A 37-year-old mother of 2 was killed in a road accident in Sippikulam, Mihintale on the Puttalam – Trincomalee main road last evening (20).
Police said that she was knocked down by a lorry.
Following the accident, the driver had driven away without stopping at the scene.
Thereafter, the driver had hidden the lorry at his home.
However, an eyewitness to the accident had informed the police and later the lorry was taken into their custody.
The driver had also surrendered to Mihintale Police and he will be produced before Anuradhapura Court today (21).
